Celebrating the Care Card Kickoff: Big Pink Bus Event at Bungalow Featured on AZ Family News

Posted by Stephen Simms on

We were thrilled to host the Care Card Kickoff Party yesterday at Bungalow, and it was an event to remember! From special guests to meaningful conversations, the day was all about raising awareness, giving back, and bringing the community together. We were especially excited to see our efforts highlighted on AZ Family News, where Simone covered the event live and shared the story behind the Care Card and the Big Pink Bus.

The Big Pink Bus, a mobile mammography unit operated by Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center, was parked outside our store, offering convenient breast cancer screenings to women throughout the day. As October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the timing couldn’t have been better. During the news spot, Dr. Loving spoke about the importance of regular screenings and how the Big Pink Bus helps make these essential health checks more accessible. In fact, mammograms can reduce the chances of dying from breast cancer by up to 40%, making initiatives like this one all the more critical.

Supporting a Great Cause—One Care Card at a Time

As Simone mentioned in her coverage, the Care Card is a fantastic opportunity to shop, save, and support. For just $60, you can get 20% off at over 300 retailers across the Valley, including right here at Bungalow. But the benefits don’t stop there—the Care Card also supports programs like the Big Pink Bus, helping to provide screenings and essential care to women throughout our community. It’s a win-win!

Our co-owner, Linda Criswell, shared why this event is so close to our hearts. “This is our 20th year partnering with the Care Card and The Board of Visitors,” she said. “Over the years, we’ve seen so many impactful projects come to life because of these efforts, and that’s why we love being a part of it. Personally, it’s even more meaningful this year because my mother passed away from breast cancer, so supporting the Big Pink Bus feels especially important.”

Watch the Coverage and See for Yourself!

If you missed the event or couldn’t make it out, you can still catch all the excitement. Watch the AZ Family News coverage below to see highlights from the day, hear from Dr. Loving and Sarah about the importance of the Care Card, and get a glimpse inside Bungalow. We even had a chance to show off some of our favorite home decor, clothing, and accessories, all of which were available for a special discount with the Care Card.

We want to thank everyone who came out to the event, shopped with their Care Card, and helped us make this kickoff a success. It’s partnerships like these that allow us to make a positive impact, and we’re honored to be a part of this incredible community effort.

Get Your Care Card Today

The Care Card event continues through October 27th! So there’s still time to shop, save, and support. You can purchase your Care Card online or at any participating retailer, including Bungalow. Every purchase makes a difference.

Thank you to AZ Family News for sharing our story, and a big thank you to everyone who continues to support this cause. Let’s keep making a difference, one Care Card at a time!
