THE BUNGALOW SPOTLIGHT: SUZANNE, Style with Soul, Edge, and Effortless Cool

Posted by Stephen Simms on

Walk through the doors of Bungalow’s clothing boutique and you’ll likely spot Suzanne — cool, confident, and the epitome of understated style. Whether she’s curating a rack of Denimist denim, slipping a perfectly tailored blazer onto a client, or turning a vintage band tee into high fashion with a flick of her wrist, Suzanne’s presence is magnetic.

A longtime stylist and boutique veteran, she’s known around here as our in-house icon — effortlessly blending relaxed tailoring, playful details, and that elusive “it factor” into every outfit she assembles. Her look? Part Audrey Hepburn, part Sheryl Crow. Her philosophy? Great style starts with confidence and quality.

“Good basics are your foundation,” she says, arranging a stack of striped tees under a cropped jacket. “And from there, it’s all about the mix. Throw in something unexpected — a bold hat, a vintage accessory, a little edge — and that’s where the magic happens.”

Raised with an eye for fashion (thanks to a grandmother who never played the church organ without a hat), Suzanne has always understood the power of clothing to tell a story. That story, for her, is one of eclectic polish: timeless staples layered with attitude. She doesn’t chase trends — she transcends them.

At Bungalow, Suzanne thrives in the tension between tailored and undone, classic and rebellious. One moment she’s in striped trousers and a red sweater; the next, she’s pulling together a metallic skirt and sneakers like it’s second nature. “I want every woman to walk out of here feeling like herself — but elevated. Unstoppable. Cool in her own skin.”

It’s no surprise that she names a black blazer as her forever essential (her first was vintage Chanel), or that she dreams of styling in Paris. Her favorite Bungalow brand? “Denimist — always,” she smiles. “It nails that perfect balance of structure and ease.”

And though she’s dressed thousands, her approach remains deeply personal. “The best moments are when clients see themselves in a new way. When they stand up straighter. That’s what I live for.”

Suzanne’s styling superpower? Accessorizing. Her signature move? A great hat. Her favorite kind of compliment? A surprised one: “I never thought I could wear that — but you made me feel like I could.”

So next time you visit Bungalow, look for the woman behind the mirror — the one pairing cowboy boots with a rugby dress, or helping a client fall in love with fashion again. That’s Suzanne. Our boutique’s cool girl. And your new best-kept style secret.
